Bu araştırmada, çocukların okula hazır olmalarında önemli etkisi bulunan okuma yazmaya hazırlık ve matematik becerilerinin evde ailesi tarafından ne düzeyde desteklendiği incelenmiştir. Bununla beraber, çocuğa ilişkin çeşitli özelliklerin (yaş, cinsiyet, okul öncesi eğitim alma durumu, okul öncesi eğitim alma süresi) evde sunulan destek üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, betimsel tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Türkiye'nin en büyük ili olan İstanbul ve küçük bir Anadolu şehri olan Aksaray'da okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden 110 çocuk oluşturmuştur. Ailelerin okuma yazmaya hazırlık ve matematik becerilerini evde orta düzeyde desteklediği belirlenmiştir. Ailelerin çocukların okuma yazmaya hazırlık ve matematik becerilerini destekleme düzeylerinin çocuğun cinsiyetine, yaşına ve doğum sırasına göre farklılık göstermediği belirlenmiştir. Okul öncesi eğitimi alma durumu ve okul öncesi eğitimi alma süresi ise çocukların evde gerçekleştirdikleri yapılandırılmış etkinlikler üzerinde etkili olmuştur. Çocukların okuma yazmaya hazırlık becerilerinin evde desteklenme durumu ile matematik becerilerinin evde desteklenme durumu arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür.
ÖzBu araştırma, Şanlıurfa merkez ve ilçelerinde bulunan bazı zeytin bahçelerinin genel beslenme durumlarını tespit etmek amacıyla 2010-2011 yılları arasında yürütülmüştür. Bu amaçla; yöreyi temsilen Şanlıurfa merkez ve ilçelerde bulunan zeytin bahçelerinin 17 tanesinden yaprak örnekleri ile 0-20 ve 20-40 cm derinliklerden toprak örnekleri alınıp, analiz edilmişlerdir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre toprakların genel olarak çok kireçli, hafif alkalin yapıda, tuzsuz ve organik madde miktarının yetersiz olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yaprak ve toprak örneklerinde yapılan makro ve mikro besin element analiz sonuçlarından elde edilen bulgular neticesinde bölgede bulunan zeytinliklerin genelinde besin element noksanlıklarının olduğu ve bahçelerin neredeyse tamamında P, Zn ve B içeriklerinin yetersiz seviyelerde olduğu belirlenmiştir. For this aim soil samples which were taken from different levels as, 0-20, 20-40, and leaf samples were collected and analyzed. According to obtained results; soils have a higher content of lime, slight alkaline, without any salinity problem and total organic matter is not sufficient. Macro and micro nutrient analysis made of soil and leaf samples and results showed that, olive orchards which are based in our region have not enough nutrition and it was determined that P, Zn and B contents are insufficient levels in nearly all of the gardens.
It was aimed to examine the relationship between parents' practices about early literacy and children's word and print awareness skills. The research was carried out by using the correlational research model, which is a quantitative research method. The sample of the study is composed of parents of 224 children selected through simple random sampling method from 60-84-month-old children who were currently attending to pre-schools in the center of Aksaray province and central villages, and 180 children selected through convenient sampling method among these families. Early Literacy Questionnaire and Word & Print Awareness Assessment Tool were used. It was seen that parents found the activities related to storybooks and structured activities more important and applied them. Total scores of children's word and print awareness and the sub-score of children's writing concepts were high, and the sub-score of their word recognition was moderate. It was stated that there is a positive and low-level relationship between the frequency of parents' practices on early literacy activities with their children and children's word-print awareness skills.
The current study aims to perform the adaptation of the Encouragement of Academic Skills of Young Children (EASYC) Scale into Turkish. The study group was determined by means of the convenience sampling technique. A total of 124 students aged at 48-84 months were included in the sampling of the study. The data collection tools of the study are the Turkish Version of Encouragement of Academic Skills of Young Children Scale (ÇEABD) and the Home Literacy Activities Questionnaire used for criterion validity. In the analysis of the data, explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses, Pearson correlation analysis, descriptive analysis, item total correlation, and internal consistency coefficient calculation were used. As a result of the study, the ÇEABD was proved to be valid and reliable scale in the Turkish sampling. The mean scores taken by the children in the sampling from the reading and math dimensions of ÇEABD and their total mean score were found to be at the medium level. Thus, it can be argued that the parents of the children in the sampling moderately encourage them in activities related to letters and words, comprehension, formal math activities, informal math activities and activities related to games/toys sub-dimensions.
