This paper will identify some of the barriers and challenges in teaching English early in Indonesia. We believe that teaching English as a foreign language has many obstacles and challenges that must be raised and published so that all parties with interest in teaching foreign languages ??in Indonesia, especially in early childhood, will receive enlightenment. So, we have first received much input from various data sources that we access electronically. All of our data is related to the purpose of this study, and we analyze it with a descriptive qualitative design under the control of a phenomenological approach so that the results will be valid and reliable findings. Based on the discussion of the findings, we can conclude that many teachers are often hampered by a lack of enthusiasm, limited study schedules, teaching resources, inadequate materials, and excess students in class. On the other hand, students have shallow learning motivation and very few skills related to learning English as a foreigner. Therefore, this is an insight for many parties who work in succeeding in English teaching in Indonesia.

What are the English listening material learning needs of Paket C students in the 12th grade? It was one of the two research questions that guided the study. How were the English listening materials for Paket C students in the 12th grade designed? Built on design This investigation was carried out using research. To gather data regarding the students' listening demands in EFL teaching, semi-structured interviews and open-ended questionnaires were used. Validations by media and material experts were also carried out. According to the results of the data analysis, Paket C pupils need English listening resources first. Second, the audio media was created using a bottom-up methodology while going through iterative design phases, including problem-solving analysis, media development, testing, and reflection. The tutor's book, the students' book, and the MP3 listening materials were the three products of the design procedures. In conclusion, the 12th-grade students of Paket C need English listening materials related to their activity/background/profession, future/material usefulness, educational background, surrounding environment, and life skill. All of the students need to aim to design English listening materials for the 12th-grade students of Paket C.

This paper is derived from an ongoing two year research. It aims to transfer "Lohidu" to be written into English as part of repositioning local language and culture into global culture. Lohidu is an oral traditional song of Gorontalo. It is sung and transferred orally through generation. It is believed that the oral culture is easily faded than written culture. Thus, it is important to transfer the oral culture into written culture in order to preserve the tradition. Nowadays, Gorontalo culture and language begin to extinct. The young generation of Gorontalo tend to love modern culture rather than their traditional culture. The written manuscript of Lohidu can be used later to trace the culture and to analyse the local wisdom in it. The data of the research were collected through recording; audio and video when the singer of Lohidu sang. Furthermore, the recording of Lohidu in Gorontalo language was transferred into English Language by firstly translated it into Indonesian language. In the first year, the output of the research was the book of Lohidu in 3 (three) languages; Gorontalo language, Indonesian language and English language. In addition, Lohidu can be enjoyed perfectly when it is performed in live show, therefore, on the second year, the recording video of the performance will be published online through website. The locations of the research were 5 regencies and one city in Gorontalo Province. From those locations there were 18 respondents and most of them were above 35 years old.
