INTRODUÇÃO:A pele é um órgão importante para o corpo, cujo um de seus papeis é fornecer proteção contra o ambiente externo e contra possíveis infecções que este pode fornecer. Tratá-la caso lesionada é de interesse médico. Nesse sentido, curativos à base de biopolímeros tem sido explorado, e dentre eles está a quitosana, derivada da quitina por desacetilação. Esse biopolímero possui boas propriedades que o permite ser utilizado em lesões epiteliais, como sendo ele biodegradável, pouco tóxico, biocompatível e efeito cicatrizante. Além dessas propriedades, a quitosana também possui caráter hidrofílico, que pode variar dependendo do seu grau de desacetilação. OBJETIVO: O presente trabalho teve por objetivo preparar membranas com diferentes graus de desacetilação, 85% e 92,6%, com diferentes ácidos para a sua dissolução, ácido acético e lático, e uma porção com a incorporação do extrato hidroetanólico da casca do caule Anacardium microcarpum Ducke, caracterlizá-las quanto seus aspectos macroscópicos, espessuara e molhabilidade por ângulo de contato, e comparar a hidrofilicidade das membranas. METODOLOGIA: Foram preparados 4 recipientes de quitosana, quitosana 85% e ácido áceito, quitosana 85% e ácido lático, quitosana 92,6% e ácido acético, e quitosana 92,6% e ácido lático, tirou-se uma porção de cada para a adição do extrato em três concentrações diferentes e foram distribuídas em placas de petri, secadas, neutralizadas, secadas novamente e armazenadas para as caracterizações. RESULTADOS: As membranas apresentaram coloração amarelo creme, as com extrato tiveram a coloração tendendo para âmbar, mostraram-se homogêneas, transparentes e flexíveis, com espessura média de 5,5 µm. Quanto à molhabilidade, todas as membranas mostraram-se hidrofílicas, porém, as feitas com a quitosana 92,6% desacetilada e ácido acética mostrou-se mais hidrofílica que as demais membranas. A adição do extrato contribuiu para o aumento de hidrofilicidade. CONCLUSÃO: As membranas preparadas com a quitosana 92,6% desacetilada e ácido acético mostrou-se mais hidrofílica e a adição do extrato também contribuiu para o aumento de hidrofilicidade.
