Case report: A female patient, referred to the buccomaxillofacial surgery service, complaining of a painless 1-year increase in the mandible. The panoramic radiograph revealed a radiolucent lesion and unilocular. Under general anesthesia, complete removal of the lesion was performed. Microscopic evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of aneurysmal bone cyst associated with central ossifying fibroma and after 1 year of follow up, there was no evidence of recurrence.
Materials and methods:We have reviewed cases of aneurysmal bone cyst associations with other bone lesions, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies and recurrences. Conclusion: Incomplete removal of the lesion leads to the occurrence of posterior relapses, so the size and presence of associated bone lesions should be considered at the time of therapeutic choice.
