In the electric resonance method of radiof requency spectroscopy various molecular and nuclear parameters of linear polar molecules may be determined from observations of the 1, 0-*4, ±1 transition. An equation is given for the energy difference of these two states which is good to terms in X 6 up to values of X= 1.0, where X is a quantity which is proportional to the electric field strength. From this equation, expressions are derived for the permanent electric dipole moment and the moment of inertia in terms of experimentally determined parameters.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
