As the next generation cellular system, 5G network is required to provide a large variety of services for different kinds of terminals, from traditional voice and data services over mobile phones to small packet transmission over massive machine-type terminals. Although orthogonal-subcarrier based waveform has been widely used nowadays in many practical systems, it can hardly meet the future requirements in the coming 5G networks. Therefore, more flexible waveforms have been proposed to address the unprecedented challenges. In this article, we will provide comprehensive analysis and comparison for the typical waveform candidates. To obtain insightful analysis, we will not only introduce the basic principles of the waveforms but also reveal the underlying characteristics of each waveform. Moreover, a comprehensive comparison in terms of different performance metrics will be also presented in this article, which provide an overall understanding of the new waveforms.
This paper addresses the problem of outage characterization of an ambient backscatter communication system with a pair of passive tag and reader. In particular, an exact expression for the effective channel distribution is derived. Then, the outage probability at the reader is analyzed rigorously. Since the expression contains an infinite sum, a tight truncation error bound has been derived to facilitate precise numerical evaluations. Furthermore, an asymptotic expression is provided for high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime.Index Terms-Ambient backscatter, Internet of Things (IoT), outage probability, performance analysis.
To address the problem of the sparrow search algorithm (SSA) has poor global search ability, weak local development ability, and easily falls into the local optimal solution, a multi-strategy improved evolutionary sparrow search algorithm (MSSA) is proposed. The introduction of the tent chaotic map improves the diversity of the initialization population, accelerates algorithm convergence, and improves convergence accuracy. Endow sparrow finders with a random search ability to coordinate the balance between global search and local development. To discover dangerous sparrow individuals, the mutation evolution operation is completed, and a greedy strategy is combined to improve the processing ability of the algorithm for local optimal solutions and make full use of each sparrow individual. Six benchmark functions were used to comprehensively verify the feasibility of the proposed algorithm based on four aspects: optimization ability, robustness, convergence ability, and optimization trajectory. These results indicate that the proposed algorithm is superior. Finally, through the comparison and analysis of the parameter identification and control strategies of the two servo systems in practical application, on the one hand, the advantages of the proposed algorithm in practical engineering applications are illustrated. In addition, a fuzzy PID control strategy based on MSSA is proposed. By adding step, sinusoidal, triangular wave and disturbance signals, simulation experiments show that the control strategy can significantly improve the dynamic and steady performance of the servo system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
