Three phase power flow calculation is required for Transmission Network Analysis (TNA) and Distribution Network Analysis (DNA). In TNA it is needed to calculate voltage and current unbalance factors, required by Power Quality Analysis. In DNA Three Phase Power Flow is a must to have tool, since power flow is used as a basis tool for other DNA methods. This paper presents modeling proposal for using symmetrical components for TNA and DNA. It is applied to Newton-Raphson, Current Injection, and ladder iterative methods. Single phase switching as an operational mode in unsymmetrical power system networks is analyzed efficiently solved using this method.Index Terms-Three-phase power flow, symmetrical components, distribution generation, local control, single phase switching.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
