Lokale nøkkelpersoner, slik som Røde Kors-frivillige, er i kontakt med sårbare mennesker i lokalsamfunnet og deriblant personer i selvmordsfare. Mange er imidlertid ikke godt nok forberedt på å oppdage og henvise personer i selvmordsfare videre til profesjonell hjelp. Denne studien hadde som formål å undersøke om opplæring av Røde Kors-frivillige forbedrer egenrapporterte holdninger og øker kunnskap og trygghet i møte med personer i selvmordsfare. Forskningsdesignet var en prospektiv enkeltgruppe pre- og posttest-evaluering. Det ble inkludert 81 deltakere som hadde besvart både pre- og posttesten i analysene. Opplæringseffektene ble målt ved hjelp av et spørreskjema, som ble administrert før og etter opplæringen, med tre utfallsvariabler; 1) holdninger til selvmord, 2) kunnskap om intervensjon ved selvmordsfare og 3) trygghet i å identifisere personer i selvmordsfare og motivere til hjelpesøkende atferd. Etter opplæring var den gjennomsnittlige sumskåren for uhensiktsmessige holdninger redusert fra 12.40 til 8.73 tilsvarende en moderat effekt (d = .61). Den gjennomsnittlige sumskåren for kunnskap om intervensjon ved selvmordsfare økte fra 1.69 til 1.99 tilsvarende liten effekt (d = -.27). Deltakerne var også tryggere i å intervenere ved selvmordsfare etter kurset (M = 8.60, M = 12.93) tilsvarende stor effekt (d = -.69). De positive resultatene av opplæringen gir støtte til videre implementering av kursmodulen i Røde Kors, og åpner dørene for tilsvarende opplæring for andre grupper av lokale nøkkelpersoner i Norge
Siden starten av pandemien har det vært stor bekymring for hvordan den kom til å påvirke den generelle psykiske helsen i befolkningen. Denne studiens mål var å undersøke hvordan befolkningen rapporterer subjektiv økning av vanlige psykiskeplager under pandemien, opplevde positive konsekvenser av pandemien, om det foreligger gruppeforskjeller i svarene i henhold til kjønn, alder og sosioøkonomisk status, samt om det er forskjeller i hvordan folk har svart på de toundersøkelsene i 2020 og 2021. Forskningsdesignet var en befolkningssurvey på toulike tidspunkt (2020 og 2021) under pandemien hvor prevalens og gruppeforskjeller ble undersøkt. Spørreundersøkelsen ble besvart av 4012 personer i 2020 og 4007 personer i 2021. Resultatene fra 2020 viste at 45,5 % av deltakerne rapporterte at de opplevde økt bekymring, 38,5 % økt ensomhet og 33,4 % økt nedstemthet etter at pandemien startet. De yngre aldersgruppene (18–35 år og 35–55 år) og de med lav sosioøkonomisk status rapporterte i størst grad at de opplevde negative konsekvenser av pandemien på sin psykiske helse. Kvinner rapporterte i større grad enn menn at de opplevde økt bekymring. Det var ikke betydningsfulle forskjeller mellom 2020 og 2021 i noen av de undersøkte forholdene. Studien viser at en betydelig andel av befolkningen både i 2020 og 2021 rapporterte en opplevd økning i vanlige psykiske plager under pandemien. Samtidig tyder mye på at pandemien rammet skjevt i befolkningen slik at unge voksne og de med lav sosioøkonomisk status rapporterte om større innvirkninger på sin psykiske helse.
Internettbaserte selvhjelpsverktøy, basert på kognitiv atferdsterapi (iKAT), har de senere årene blitt introdusert forå gjøre behandling mot depresjon mer tilgjengelig. Dette er særlig aktuelt for personer med milde til moderate formerfor depresjon. Forskningen viser at iKAT er like effektiv som ordinær kognitiv atferdsterapi (KAT) når den gjennomføresmed veiledning av helsepersonell. Effekten av verktøyene er nært knyttet til implementeringskvalitet. Barrierer for implementering i primærhelsetjenesten viser seg blant annet å være utfordringer med å innføre nye rutiner i konkurranse med eksisterende tiltak, ha tid til tilstrekkelig opplæringav helsepersonell som skal ta verktøyet i bruk for sine pasienter og manglende systematikk i implementeringen.Helsemyndighetene har gjennom Direktoratet for e-helse initiert etableringen av en felles mestringsportal der slikeselvhjelpsverktøy skal gjøres tilgjengelige for helsepersonell og befolkningen. En slik felles plattform vil styrke implementeringen. I tillegg er det behov for prosjekter der man spesifikt monitorerer og evaluerer implementering av slike verktøy som grunnlag for å utforme en systematisk implementeringsstrategi. Som eksempel på et enkelttiltak foreslår vi at implementeringskvaliteten kan styrkes ved å gi bedre opplæring og oppfølging av veilederne, særlig gjelder detteinnholdet og omfanget av veiledningen med tanke på å styrke etterlevelse og motvirke drop-out.
