An endothelial cell-tropic and leukotropic human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) clinical isolate was cloned as a fusion-inducing factor X-bacterial artificial chromosome in Escherichia coli, and the ribonucleotide reductase homolog UL45 was deleted. Reconstituted virus RVFIX and RV⌬UL45 grew equally well in human fibroblasts and human endothelial cells. Thus, UL45 is dispensable for growth of HCMV in both cell types.
The purpose of this study was to adopt the well-established and mature job demands–resources model (JD-R), and to extend its model to work engagement and turnover intention of frontline healthcare personnel. Using the cross-sectional survey and partial least squares path modeling tools, the results showed that perceived organizational support had a negative impact on the turnover intention of frontline healthcare staff. This finding is important because it shows how the medical system managers can buffer the negative impact of a lack of job resources on the work engagement of employees in terms of personal strategies, such as the psychological pressure in coping with a high workload. Compared with employee care, perceived organizational support for the respondents had a positive impact on work engagement, whereas work engagement had a negative impact on turnover intention. This study successfully integrated the literature on job resources, work engagement, and turnover intention to determine the real needs of frontline medical personnel.
Law education is a must subject in many courses due to its importance. However, law is perceived as a complicated subject and consumes much time, particularly for non-law students who do not aim to study law throughout their course registration. Indeed, law education is a dull topic since it is usually taught in a conventional style. School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia, has offered one law subject to the business students, "Business Law". It was realized that most of the students enrolled in that course faced difficulty in learning law education. This paper aims to study the business students' experience of learning law and propose effective teaching methods to ensure that legal topics are taught more acceptably. This paper adopts a qualitative method in collecting data where three surveys and two short interviews were conducted. It was found that the students have found this law subject complicated. Still, they liked the subject and agreed to learn it with some appropriate learning activities. Thus, something must be done to contest these views and change students' perspective on legal courses. This subject needs to be taught in a manner acceptable to attract the students' attention and interest. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all learning activities are conducted through the online platform. Therefore, the lecturer must have a good teaching plan to ensure that students can learn and enjoy law.
Islam is a way of life that guides the Muslims from all perspectives, and as portion of Islam, it also promotes peace and conciliation in resolving disputes. The Al-Quran provides guidelines in dispute resolution through a third party called Sulh. Sulh refers to the process of mediation, arbitration and reconciliation that takes place when the parties involved agree on a process of resolving a dispute with a third party mediator, who eventually will ensure that both disputed parties will be satisfied by the outcomes. This work is focused on community mediation, which involved with the disputes between the community members. In Malaysia, Sulh were actually practiced by the Malays prior to the time of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British. The session will be conducted by a third party who normally a respected and elder person in the society, whom also held the position as the headman (Penghulu or Ketua Kampung) or Imam (a religious leader). Nowadays, given the plural society of Malaysia, and the era of Internet, it is crucial for Sulh to be available online. With the use of ICT tools, Sulh can be promoted to society, and if it is a part of e-government efforts, then it will encourage the society to be involved with the government's mission. The online Sulh will not merely act as an interface for those parties involved. The challenges of making the online system secured, the correct ways of ensuring the data accuracy, understanding on methods that will be used for data propagation (among others), are existed in the domain of Computer Science (CS). There are many possible CS approaches, but the work will focus on Computational Intelligence (CI) techniques, with special interest in connectionist models.
