Acil servisler farklı şikâyetlerle gelen hastaların aynı anda bakıldığı, hastaların yaşamları ile ilgili kritik kararların kısa sürede verildiği, ölüm oranlarının yüksek olduğu üniteler olduğundan, çalışanlar açısından oldukça stresli ve tehlikeli ortamlardır. Burada çalışanlar zorlu çalışma şartlarının yanında, sağlıklarını tehlikeye sokacak birçok problemle karşılaşmaktadır. Sağlık çalışanlarının bu bağlamda yaşadıkları problemlerin ortaya konulması ve gerekli önlemlerin alınması işçi sağlığı ve iş güvenliği açısından büyük bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı Konya"da farklı hastanelerin acil servislerinde görev yapan sağlık çalışanlarının işçi sağlığı ve güvenliği kapsamında yaşadıkları problemlerin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma 2014 yılında gerçekleştirilmiş olup tanımlayıcı nitelikte bir çalışmadır. Araştırmada katılımcılara yöneltilen sorular, literatür bilgileri ve acil servis çalışanların tecrübelerine dayalı olarak geliştirilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında 9 farklı hastanede görev yapan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 241 sağlık çalışanına, yüz yüze anket tekniği kullanılarak sorular yöneltilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular SPSS 20,0 paket programında değerlendirilmiş ve veriler üzerinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılanların 124 (%51,5) erkek, 117"si (%48,5) kadınlardan oluşmaktadır. Katılıcımlar içinde hemşireler (%37,8), temizlik elemanları (%24,9), ATT (%17,8) ve hekimler (%8,7) en büyük grupları oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların 68"i (%28,2) çalışma ortamında kendisini güvende hissetmediğini, 149" u (%61,8) ise kısmen güvende hissettiğini belirtmiştir. Katılımcıların % 85,9"u çalışma ortamında sözlü hakaret, saldırı ve fiziki şiddet riski ile %77,2 bulaşıcı hastalık riski ile karşı karşıya olduğunu, %44"ü ise en az bir defa kesici delici alet yaralanması yaşadığını belirtmiştir.
