Today’s people live in a society with many dangers to their peace and security. The effectiveness of different therapies in psychological variables needs to be evaluated to reach the most precise therapies based on research evidence. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of existential therapy (ET) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in alleviating the loneliness and irrational beliefs of male prisoners. In the present quasi-experimental study, the statistical population consisted of all married male prisoners aged between 25 to 45 years in Mashhad Central Prison in the first half of 2017. Among the statistical population, 36 people were selected and then randomly placed in three research groups. The two experimental groups underwent eight separate intervention sessions, ET, and ACT. At the beginning and end of the study, all of the three groups were evaluated by a research questionnaire, including the loneliness scale. The results of data analysis showed that, in comparison with the control group, the changes in the other two groups under ET and ACT were significant as to the feeling of loneliness and irrational beliefs of prisoners. However, there was no significant difference between the effects of these two treatments. The present research was limited in the case of examining the follow-up stage due to lack of access and cooperation of the subjects, incorporating some control variables (such as the history of substance use and psychiatry), and employing other evaluation methods (e.g., interview). It is highly suggested that future research should address these limitations.

Addiction and Problematic drug use, led to the physical, psychological, social and family destruction especially clinically significant or serious discomfort. This study aimed to efficacy of spiritual therapy based on family-centered on marriage satisfaction in couples with husbands' drug-dependent. This design was a quasi-experimental. The population consisted all drug-dependent and their wives in Quchan (prisoners and patients referred to the clinics withdrawal). 40 couples volunteered to participate in this study and were placed randomly in the experimental group (20 couples) and control group (20 couples). Participants reply to afrooz marital satisfaction scale. Couples in experimental group received 10 sessions of 90 minutes spiritual Family therapy and the control group received no intervention. Analysis of covariance showed that the differences between pretest and posttest of marital satisfaction in experimental group and all its sub-tests that increased significantly in the experimental group, while no significant changes in control groups. Also there were significant differences in marital between the experimental group and the control group. So spiritual therapy based on family-centered on marital satisfaction of couples were effective. Spiritual therapy based on family-centered could improve their marital satisfaction Couples with husbands' drug-dependent and effected on increasing of marital satisfaction of couples involved in addiction that shows abnormal patterns of family relationships. The results can be the aimed to family-based treatment and harm reduction interventions at preventing relapse and reduce craving in substance abusers and can be used reexamining it.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of compassion-focused therapy on blood cortisol and cognitive-emotion regulation among drug abusers. Methods: It was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design and a control group. The statistical population consisted of all men with drug abuse referring to Torbat-e-Heydariyeh Adult Drug Abuse Clinic in 2018, 40 of whom were selected by simple random sampling for the experimental and control groups. The experimental group was trained for 10 sessions of 90 min, but the control group was on the waiting list and received no training. A demographic questionnaire and the cognitive-emotion regulation questionnaire of Garnefski were used for data collection before and after the intervention. Besides, the data on the in vitro serum levels of cortisol we gathered. The data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance in SPSS 24 software. Results: The results of the multivariate analysis of covariance showed that in the group of compassion-focused behavioral therapy, the intervention had a significant effect on blood cortisol and cognitive-emotion regulation at the posttest (P < 0.005). Conclusions: According to the findings, compassion-focused behavioral therapy was effective in reducing cortisol levels and elevating cognitive-emotion regulation among drug abusers.

Introduction:The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive-behavioral therapy based on Beck's pattern on clinical syndrome and life satisfaction in patients with major depression Methods: This randomized clinical trial was performed on 24 patients with depression. Patients were randomly assigned into two groups of cognitive-behavioral therapy and control. Cognitivebehavioral therapy based on Beck's pattern was conducted in twelve nine-minute sessions twice a week, and the control group was not trained in any kind of training. Beck & Diener questionnaires were used respectively before, after and two months after the intervention to diagnose depression and life satisfaction. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS-21 software. Results: A total of 24 patient had inclusion criteria that twelve patient were randomly assigned to each group. The frequency of men in the treatment and control group was 50.0% and 33.3%, respectively. In related to depression and life satisfaction, the results of T-test showed a significant difference between the two groups after the intervention and two months later (P-value<0.05). The results repeated measure showed that in the cognitive-behavioral group there is a significant relationship in related to depression and life satisfaction over time. Conclusions:The results of this study showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy has a positive effect on depression and life satisfaction in patients with major depression.
