RESUMO: Existem fatores que contribuem para satisfação e insatisfação no processo de trabalho estes podem contribuir positivamente e negativamente como: ambiente, integração em equipe, reconhecimento profissional, salários entre outros. Pelo fato dos profissionais enfermeiros estarem envolvidos na prestação de cuidados diretos ao paciente, ocorre uma sobrecarga das atividades administrativas e até mesmo assistenciais, e essa situação pode levar o enfermeiro a perder a motivação por não concluir com eficiência suas atribuições. Essa falta de motivação é preocupante já que ela é o impulso para a satisfação, responsável pelo crescimento e desenvolvimento pessoal e organizacional. O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a satisfação e a insatisfação no processo de trabalho de enfermeiros que atuam na Atenção Primária em um município do sudoeste goiano. Tratou-se de um estudo descritivo e transversal, de natureza qualitativa, realizado com os 20 enfermeiros da Atenção Primária. Para as coletas dos dados, foram utilizados as perguntas abertas do questionário validado pelo Ministério da Saúde, Conselho Federal de Enfermagem e FIOCRUZ, ABEN E FNE “Perfil da Enfermagem no Brasil”, que faz referência a satisfação e insatisfação do profissional enfermeiro no seu processo de trabalho, e perguntas fechadas, que fazem referência ao perfil sócio formativo dos participantes do estudo. Os dados foram analisados segundo a técnica de análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Após análise do conteúdo foram descritos a caracterização dos enfermeiros, e com as leituras exaustivas do questionário emergiram 2 categorias que foram: satisfação profissional e insatisfação profissional. O estudo mostrou que os enfermeiros consideram satisfação em seu processo de trabalho questões como ter autonomia para desempenhar suas ações, valorização e reconhecimento profissional, condições de trabalho e cientificidade na profissão e demonstraram que a insatisfação no processo de trabalho, está diretamente ligada à questões como baixos salários, desunião da classe de enfermagem, sobrecarga de trabalho e dificuldade em conciliar o serviço assistencial com o gerencial.
