Background: Sexual harassment is a real and serious problem that can affect any child or youth regardless of gender, race, religion, ethnic, age groups and occurs at all socioeconomic levels. Aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of an educational program for mothers to protect their children from sexual harassment. Research design: A quasi experimental design was used, setting: The study was conduct at Shoubra maternal and child health care center it selected randomly from Shoubra district in Cairo governorate. Sample: A purposive sample of 110 mother their children age from 4 to 18years, regardless the gender. The tools of this study included, an interviewing questionnaire for mothers to assess mothers knowledge and behaviors. Results: findings of the present study, revealed that, there were highly statistically significant differences between pre and post educational program related to mothers' knowledge and behaviors. There were improvement of the mothers' knowledge and behaviors after the program implementation. conclusion the mothers improved their knowledge and behaviors related to protection of their children from sexual harassment. Recommendation: The sexual harassment educational program must be provided for all parents of children to improve their knowledge about sexual harassment, an-orientation program for newly mothers to improve mothers knowledge level about sexual harassment and mass media could efficiently be utilized to offer specific educational programs to community to raise the mothers' knowledge about protection of their children from sexual harassment.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was an evaluation of the effect of thermocycling on microhardness and microtensile bond strength (μTBS) of the cross-linked acrylic and nanocomposite teeth to the acrylic denture base. Materials and methods: twelve teeth of the upper denture teeth were selected. Six teeth of nano-hybrid composite resin denture teeth and six cross-linkedacrylic teeth. These teeth, together with theacrylic resin bases, have been fixed to a micro-sawing machine to form 120 microbeam samples. These samples were divided into two storage regimes (dry and thermocycler), forming eight groups, each group containing 15 beams. These 8 groups were divided in equal parts to test the micro-hardness and strength of the micro-tensile bond (4 groups for each test). Results: Paired t-test was used to analyze the effect of aging on micro-hardness and microtensile bond strength for both types of denture teeth. The tests were considered significant when p ≤ 0.05 and highly significant when p ≤ 0.001. Thermocycling procedure decrease the mean values in micro-tensile bond strength for both types of denture teeth brands but with statistical significant difference regarding the cross-linked acrylic one. it produces highly significant decrease in mean values for cross-linked acrylic but has nearly no effect on nanocomposit teeth regarding the microhardness test. Considering denture teeth brand Cross linked acrylic denture teeth showing higher mean values in micro-tensile bond strength before and after aging. Also, it was showing higher mean values in micro-hardness before thermocycling. This condition was totally reversed after aging as nano composite teeth showing higher mean values with significant difference in relation to acrylic one. Conclusion: The newly introduced nanohybrid composite denture teethwere less markedly affected by thermocycling specially in term of hardness, but practically and from financial point of view, the cross-linked acrylic resin teeth has a comparable result to nanocompsite one as it shows higher micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) so, it appears more applicable for patients.
This study aimed to assess knowledge and satisfaction among mothers with gestational diabetes (GDM). A descriptive study design was utilized. The study was conducted at outpatient clinics and inpatient departments of Ain Shams Maternity University Hospital, on a convenience sample consisting of 200 gestational diabetes mothers. Two tools of data collection were used: a structured interview questionnaire, and -satisfaction part‖ of QOL scale to evaluated satisfaction among gestational diabetes mothers. The study results showed that, half of studied mothers were satisfied with a correct knowledge regarding gestational diabetes management as well as 85.3% of them were satisfied with management of hypoglycemia. There were highly significant association between mothers' knowledge and their age, education, and area of residence. Also the results revealed that, studied mothers were satisfied with social/economic, psychological/spiritual and family domains (66%, 64% & 50.5% respectively); however 65.5% of them were un-satisfied with health/functioning domain. The study concluded that, the studied mothers had correct knowledge regarding management of GD, effect of GD on mother's health, effect of GD on fetus health, management of hypoglycemia, and measuring blood glucose at home (62.1%, 64.2%, 67.4%, 90.5% & 63.2 & respectively). More than two thirds of the studied mothers were more satisfied with social/economic and psychological/ spiritual domains and GDM affects studied mother's health and functioning domains Recommendation: Developing awareness program to enhance pregnant mothers' knowledge and satisfaction regarding promotion of their health in relation to gestational diabetes.
