Studies on the specific tissue antigen from the lung have been reported by
PRESSMAN et al.l,a~s~4~6The first report on the histopathological changes of pneumotoxic pneumonitis was described by READ, and then followed by several other a ~t h o r s . ~~~J Recently, the present author and DIXON et aZ.1° reported on an effective antigen from the rat lung by the sonication method. The solubilized antigen by sonication could produce the most effective antibody which caused significant pneumonitis and glomerulonephritis.Histopathological and immunofluorescent antibody studies on experimental pneumonitis are presented in this paper.
Materials and M e t MIsolation of solubilized rat lung antigen: Lungs of male Wistar rat were perfused with PBS (pH 7.4), dissected free from the bronchi and homogenized with an equal volume of PBS.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
