Renewable energy (RE) is a field in which an increasing number of academic studies are being conducted on multiple dimensions, including technical, economic, political, and social. Wide and varied disciplines conduct research on the processes of making an investment decision in renewable energy, developing, and adopting policies for this purpose, selecting RE suitable for the location, establishing it by taking economic and environmental factors into account, developing energy distribution and storage systems, and supporting regional development. To accurately calculate the installation costs, which are viewed as one of the barriers to a greater use of renewable energy, the co-benefits of RE must be analyzed and transferred to this calculation, and thus to the decision-making processes. Understanding these co-benefits will also facilitate consumer adoption of sustainable energy sources. In addition to economic growth, financial development, employment growth, and regional development, it is crucial to understand the public health benefits of renewable energy. Through bibliometric analysis, which permits the quantification and visualization of qualitative data, the status and development of the literature on the health benefits of RE are examined in this study. The study determined the most researched topics, current issues and trends, and prominent issues in academic studies. The transition to environmentally friendly energies can be accelerated by increasing public awareness of health co-benefits from a more holistic perspective.
Despite the acceptance of electric vehicles (EVs) by consumers in developed countries, consumers' intentions towards these smart devices (SD) and the steps that can be taken to expand in this market continue to be investigated in developing countries such as Turkey. In this study, policies and incentives for the purchase of Electric Vehicles in different countries were examined, consumer concerns before the adoption of SDs were evaluated, and then consumer intentions in adopting EVs with models such as reasoned action theory, planned behavior theory, and technology acceptance model were evaluated with bibliometric analysis through conducted studies. Data from 63 publications accessed from Scopus, Web of Science, and DergiPark databases were used in the field mapping process. The results provide insights into increasing the market share of electric vehicles, which are critical in reducing the carbon footprint, by recommending the issues that need to be highlighted to the industry and researchers.
Electric vehicles (EVs) hold promise for attaining sustainable development objectives and mitigating the effects of global climate change due to their substantial benefits, such as high energy efficiency and low carbon emissions. Research on purchase intentions and behaviors may accelerate the adoption of EVs. Considering that the number of studies on EVs increases in tandem with the size of the market and that mutual interaction supports this two-way growth, conducting studies on consumer behavior in this area in countries where the electric vehicle market is developing, such as Turkey, will provide valuable insights for both the industry and the government. In this study, published articles on the consumer behavior of current and potential purchasers of electric vehicles were analyzed on the axis of Turkey, and the trend of academic studies in the literature was systematized from a holistic standpoint. Co-citation, co-keyword, geographical, and thematic analysis were applied to articles about EV consumer behaviors published between 2004 and 2022 in journals indexed by WoS, Scopus, TR Index, and DergiPark. The results of this study can inform numerous inter-disciplinary studies and researchers on the consumer behavior of electric vehicles. The bibliometric analysis of academic studies on electric vehicle consumers not only closes the market’s knowledge gap and accelerates the adoption process by increasing consumer awareness, but also provides industry representatives and policymakers with insights for the expansion of the EV market.
Rising energy demands, and technological requirements are causing the world to focus more and more on Electric Vehicles (EVs). Developing technologies for these needs accelerate the development of smart and sustainable transportation and builds smart cities of the future. In this context, Turkey’s Automobile Enterprise Group, known as TOGG, was established in Turkey in 2018 with six partners and joined the EV market. In this study, new trends and emerging EV technologies such as wireless charging, smart power distribution, vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid systems, connected vehicles, and autonomous driving for EVs are compared with TOGG technology; and its potential effects on the market are evaluated within the framework of consumer ethnocentrism. It also provides perspectives and recommendations for future smart transportation to serve as a guide for the future technological development and commercialization of EVs
