High demand for halal products globally has contributed the rapid development of halal small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Halal Manufacturing Supply Chain Management (HSCM) has been adopted by SME as a dynamic action in improving firm performance (FP). However, the benefit of HSCM can not be fully achieved without effective strategic manufacturing management (SMM). Based on this concept, the relationships between SMM, HSCM, and FP have been debated. Hence, rigorous research is necessary to identify the factors and the implications of SMM towards HSCM and also FP as a whole. The primary objective of this research is to recognize the SMM practises applied in the halal manufacturing SME sectors. This research uses purposive sampling. A Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by Partial Least Square (PLS) technique has been employed in analysing the collected data. Market orientations were found to have a significant impact on business performance when applied to halal-certified SMEs. On the other hand, despite having statistically significant effects on business performance, supply chain orientation exerted a reduced influence. This study establishes a framework for halal practitioners to improve their business operations through the application of strategic orientation principles.
This study examines the impact of green practise (GP) antecedents-green halal supplier selection (SUPP), green halal manufacturing (GHM), and green halal logistics (GHL)-on supply chain performance in the context of halal food small and medium enterprises (SME). The study examined the relationship between GP antecedent and supply chain performance using data from 115 halal SME. To test the proposed hypothesis, this study employed quantitative methodology with a purposive sampling technique. In addition, multiple regression employing structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS) is used to examine the collected data while maximising the variance captured. This study found that GHL among supply chain partners has a greater impact on the performance of halal supply chains. In addition, empirical data validate the significance of SUPP and GHM in enhancing the performance of the halal supply chain in the context of halal food SME. Incorporating the GP as a strategic approach to boost supply chain performance while ensuring the halal credibility of the product, the findings of this study will assist halal small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in refining their supply chain activity. This is the first study to examine the role of strategic green firm resources in enhancing supply chain performance.
Employees motivation has long been of interest to individuals concerned with the quality of their working lives, as it has a direct relationship with productivity and work performance. Without it, organizations experience decreased productivity, lower levels of output, and are more likely to fall short of important organizations goals. This paper seeks to discuss the roles of skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback on the relationship with job motivation among private service sector employees in Malaysia. Further, this paper later expanded from concept and definitions of all the determinants variables. It demonstrates that all the variables contribute to job motivation since they are able to comprehend their task. This research will contribute to the body of information surrounding the topic that influence the work motivation of employees. In addition, the management of the firm would profit from the findings of this study, as it would assist them in motivating their valuable employees to complete the assigned tasks.
These days all organizations are facing challenges in delivering quality services, creating values and satisfying customers, let alone in the retailing industry. The economic instability due to government policy, the rising cost of living, players in the retailing industry are forced to downsize, relocate branch and minimize its operations. Not only that, retailers, specifically hypermarkets which have direct access to individual customers personally try their best to satisfy its customers through monthly promotions, member's discounts, extending physical store to online store and many more. But what are the elements of service quality and how does it affect customer satisfaction? Some studies found that customer's satisfaction seemed to be lower in the retailers that have rigid operating hours. Another study claimed that a long queue was also the culprit for lower customer satisfaction. The truth is, service quality needs assurance, responsiveness, reliability, and tangibility in order to satisfy customers. There was not enough evidence regarding service quality and customers in the retailing industry in Sarawak. Thus, this study seeks to identify the relationship between the two variables in Sarawak’s setting. The researchers adapted the SERVQUAL questionnaire to analyze the gap between perceptions and expectations of the customer, concerning the service at a hypermarket. A total of 169 responses from 181 questionnaires distributed were used for the analysis of this study. The results showed that all the variables in the service quality were positively related to customer satisfaction. These findings showed that assurance, responsiveness, reliability, and tangibility are considered as service quality which then translated into the retailers' policy, management, and operations. The study also proved that service quality can be considered as a competitive advantage and should be taken seriously to ensure the survival of the hypermarket
