-127Asymmetric Synthesis and Properties of Sulfinimines (Thiooxime S-Oxides). -Enantiomerically pure sulfinimines, such as (S)-(III), which are important building blocks in the asymmetric synthesis of amines, are obtained in good yields in one step from the chiral menthyl p-toluenesulfinate (I) or its enantiomer and aliphatic, aromatic, and heterocyclic aldehydes. Two other less efficient methods for the asymmetric synthesis of the sulfinimines are also presented. All these syntheses fail with ketones. -(DAVIS, F. A.; REDDY, R. E.; SZEWCZYK, J. M.; REDDY, G.
