A An na ah ht ta ar r K Ke el li im me el le er r: : Dentin oluşumu; pulpa kaplaması; apeksifikasyon A AB BS ST TR RA AC CT T Improvements in bio-ceramic technology has opened new pages in endodontic material science by increasing the treatment outcome for patients. This class of dental materials conciliates great biocompatibility with high osseoconductivity that make them ideal for endodontic care. The calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) is one of these materials. Calcium enriched cement with different calcium compounds was introduced as an endodontic filling material in 2006. The major components of the powder are CaO (51.75%), SO3 (9.53%), P2O5 (8.49%), SiO2 (6.32%) by weight and minor components are Al2O3, Na2O, MgO and Cl. The material is used for dental treatments with its suitable biological properties (appropriate ISO 6876:2001 standart). In addition, in terms of physical properties such as film thickness, setting time and fluidity are suitable for use in dentistry applications. CEM cement releases calcium and phosphate ions and can form hydroxyapatite (HA) with using its own particular sources in structure. The hydroxyapatite (HA) then induces dentin bridge formation. CEM cement shows antibacterial properties and found biologically compatible in terms of cytology and geno...
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
