Mit Hilfe radioaktiv markierter Substanzen wurden Resorptionsmessungen aus der Harnblase und aus einer operativ ausgeschalteten Dünndarmschlinge beim Hund durchgeführt. Calcium und Phosphor werden innerhalb von 90 Minuten bis zu 90% aus dem Darm resorbiert, aus der Harnblase erfolgt keine meβbare Aufnahme. Eine Resorption von Inulin oder Paraaminohippursäure müβte falsche Clearancewerte vortäuschen. Inulin wurde weder aus dem Darm, noch aus der Blase resorbiert; anfangs hatte eine pH-abhängige Abspaltung des Markierungsatoms J-131 und dessen Resorption eine Inulinaufnahme vorgetäuscht. PAH wird aus dem Dünndarm und – überraschenderweise – auch aus der Harnblase resorbiert. PAH-Clearance-untersuchungen sind deshalb nur dann exakt und vergleichbar, wenn der Harn während der ganzen Versuchsdauer kontinuierlich aus dem Darm, bzw. der Blase abgeleitet wird.
