Synopsis
The experiments conducted suggest that 200 pounds of nitrogen is about the optimum as a split application when pasturing or greenchopping irrigated Piper sudangrass. Greater amounts do not appreciably increase yields but do account for relatively high rates of accumulated nitrate (NO3‐) in the harvested forage.
