200 Alanders, 295 Maris and 146 Greenland Eskimos were investigated regarding the phenotypes and gene frequencies of the pseudocholinesterase loci E1· and E2. No dibucaine-resistant variant phenotype has been found among the Maris and Greenland Eskimos while a frequency of 0.0025 has been observed for the Ea1gene among the Alanders. The segregation studies regarding the E2 locus among the Finnish Lapp families point to no definite Mendelian inheritance pattern of the C5 component. The available population data on the polymorphism of pseudocholinesterase has been compiled to serve as an up-to-date reference.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
