In den letzten Jalirzehnten wurden unsere Kenntnisse über diesen Gegenstand durch Experimente und 3eobachtungen vieler Forscher wesentlich vermehrt und vertieft. Wenn wir auch noch weit von der Lösung mancher Probleme entfernt sind, beginnt sich doch ein -wie uns stheint -richtigeres Gesamtbild der Funktion des Hirnkreislaufes bereits abzuzeichnen. Wir werden versuchen, die nach dem gegenwärtigen Stand unseres Wissens wesentlichen und allgemein bedeutsamen Merkmale der Vaskularisation des Zentralnervensystems darzustellen.Da wir auf die Anatomie der Hirngefäße im Rahmen dieser Ausführungen nicht eingehen können, schreiten wir sofort zum eigentlichen Thema. Wie wird der funktionelle Zustand der Hirngefäße reguliert? Wer ist der Motor, wer der Effektor der dynamischen Steuerung der Hirnzirkulation? Das sind die Fragen, die wir zu erörtern haben. Wie die Arterien und Venen des Körpers werden auch die Gehirngefäße vegetativ-nervös, sympathisch und parasympathisch versorgt. Die sympathischen Gefäßnerven entspringen größtenteils aus dem Halsgrenzstrang und dringen mit der Carotis interna in das Schädelinnere ein. Die parasympathische Versorgung wird hauptsächlich durch vegetative Fasern aus dem Nervus intermedius besorgt, die vom Ganglion geniculi mit dem Nervus petrosus superficialis major verlaufen und sich ebenfalls dem nervösen Karotis-Plexus anschließen, um ihn in alle seine Verzweigungen zu begleiten. Daß die Gefäßnerven aus der Na mit ins Gehirn eintreten, ist nicht nachgewiesen, aber wahrscheinlich. Arterien, Venen und Kapillaren sind mit feinen Nervenfasern und nervösen Endorganen ausgestattet, die auch afferente Impulse von den Gefäßwänden zu den Zentren der Gefäßregulation zu leiten haben. Jeder Reiz auf die Gefäßwand, vor allem aber Veränderungen der Wandspannung, führen zu Aktionspotentialen in diesem System, die mit geeigneten Apparaturen registriert werden können. Aber auch Änderungen der Blutzusammensetzung, namentlich hinsichtlich des Sauerstoff-und Kohlensäuregehal-tes, bedingen afferente Impulse. Von einem völlig in Ruhe befindlichen Gefäß sind jedoch keine Aktionspotentiale ableitbar.Es gibt also im strengen Sinn keinen Ruhet o n u s d e r H i r n g e f ä ß e, wie es, elektrophysiologisch betrachtet, keinen Ruhetonus der Skelettmuskulatur gibt.Bei jeder Reizung eines Gefäßes, sei sie mechanisch, chemisch oder elektrisch, kommt es zu einer Reaktionsfolge, die man...
