Wie früher bei analogen Picolin‐ und Lutidinverbindungen beobachtet worden ist, fluoreszieren auch Äthylpyridino‐ und Aminopyridino‐Kupfer(I)‐ jodide und einige unter ihnen zeigen verschiedene Fluoreszenzfarben bei Zimmertemperatur und sehr tiefer Temperatur („Fluoreszenz‐Thermochromie”︁).
Die leicht erhältlichen Verbindungen von Kupfer(I)‐jodid mit Nicotinsäureestern, mit Nicotinsäureamid und ‐nitril, sowie mit Chinolin, Isochinolin und Chinaldin fluoreszieren stark im ultravioletten Licht. Sie sind bemerkenswert beständig gegen Wasser und Luft, im Vergleich zu früher untersuchten Picolin‐ und Lutidinverbindungen.
Nur in einem Falle (Nicotinsäure‐Hexylester‐Kupfer(I)‐jodid) ist das Phänomen einer Fluoreszenz‐Thermochromie beobachtet worden.
