Some recent attempts to take into account exchange currents and isobaric excitations in the electromagnetic and weak interactions of leptons with the deuteron are reviewed. After a presentation of the relevant theoretical framework the crucial experiments supporting strongly the exchange current ideas are discussed in some detail.
The reaction l~ was investigated with high resolution (5 keV) at the Munich MP tandem using the Q 3 D spectrograph in conjunction with the precision time-of-flight system. The ground state Q-value was determined as Q = 3,684.5_+ 1 keV. Proton spectra were measured at 7 angles in the range of 6.1~ ~ 19 levels could be identified in the excitation energy range 0-730 keV. Transferred /-values and spectroscopic factors of these levels were derived with the aid of DWBA calculations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
