H o 1 m es 1950-1956, Be n t 1 e y 1934), doch sind die anderen Papaverarten fast unbeachtet geblieben ( S O~O~O V 1952, F u l t o n 1944, F a r m i l o , R h o d e s , H a r t U. T a y l o r 1953, A s a h i n a , K a w a t a n i , O n o U. F u j i t a 1957). Aus der Sektion Orthorhoeades (nach F e d d e in E n g 1 e r 1909) wurden Papaver rhoeas ( H e s s e 1866, A w e 1936 U. 1941, A w e U. W i n k l e r 1957, S p ä t h , S c h m i d U. S t e r n b e r g 1936, S l a v i k 1958, S a n t a v f , N t m e Z k o v i U. P o t Z S i l o v h 1959), P. dubium ( P a v e s i 1906) und P. dubium var. L e c o q u i i ( E g e l s 1959), aus der Sektion Argemonorhoeades Papaver hybridzsm (P 1 a t a n o V a , M a s s a g e t o V , K u z o v k o v U. U t k i n 1956) und P. pavoninum ( P l a t a n o v a , M a s s a g e t o v , K uz o v k o V U. U t ki n 1956) untersucht; aus der Sektion Mecones Bernh. wurde außer P. somniferum noch P. setiyerum (K 1 e i n s C h mi d t 1958) und P. glaucum (F U 1 t o n 1944) verarbeitet. Aus der Sektion Miltantha B e r n h. wurden Papaver armeniacum ( K o n o v a l o v a , Y u n u s o v U. O r e c h o v (1935) und P. fioribundum ( K o n o v a l o v a , Y u n u s o v U. O r e c h o v 1940) und aus der Sektion MacranthaElkan. Papaver orientale ( K o n o v a l o v a , Y u n u s o v U. O r ec h o v 1935) und Y. bractealum ( K i s e l e v 11. K o n o v a l o v 1948) analysiert. weiter wurden Papaver paeoniflorum (B o i t U. Eh m k e 1958) und P. amurense (B o i t U. F l e n t j e 1959) auf ihren Alkaloidgehalt geprüft. Im Rahmen einer systematischen Untersuchung alkaloidhaltiger Pflanzen haben wir bereits früher orientierungshalber die im Opium und im Stroh von ~a p a v e r somniferum ( S a p a r a 1950), P . rhoeas ( S a n t a v f , N & r n e Z : k o v i 11. P o t t S i l o v h 1959, S a n t a v f , M a t u r o v h , N E m e Z k o v i U. H o r i k 1959) und P. lateritium ( S c h r ö t e r , M a t u r o v i U. S a n t a v f 1959) enthaltenen Alkaloide säulenchromatographisch an AleOs untersucht. In der vor-liegenden Arbeit wird über die Ergebnisse berichtet, die bei der Aufarbeitung einer größeren Menge Papaver lateritium gewonnen wurden, und die unsere früheren Befunde ( S c h r ö t e r , M a t u r o v h U. S a n t a v f 1959) bestätigen und ergänzen. Auf seinen Alkaloidgehalt ist auch der sehr nahe verwandte Papaver ollanlicum B a l l . geprüft worden. Beide Arten gehören in die Sektion Pilosa
