Einleitung.Vor einiger Zeit wurde in 2 Seesternarten das schwefelhaltige Guanidinderivat Asterubin l ) aufgefunden, dessen Konstitution aufgeklärt und durch Synthese 2 ) bestätigt wurde. Da eine große Zahl von Guanidinderivaten physiologisch wirksam sind (Guanidin, Methylguanidin, Arcain u. a.), lag es nahe, auch diesen Körper nach der genannten Eichtung zu studieren. Es mußte dabei allerdings mit der Möglichkeit gerechnet werden, daß die S0 3 HGruppe in gleicher Weise die pharmakologische Wirkung lahmlegt, wie dies die Carboxylgruppe beim Arginin tut. Um ferner ein Bild zu gewinnen, ob das Vorhandensein von Schwefel an sich in einem Guanidinderivat eine physiologische Wirkung bedingt, wurden noch andere schwefelhaltige Guanidinkörper herangezogen und zu diesem Zweck zum Teil neu dargestellt. Hierbei sollte gleichzeitig auch ein Einblick gewonnen werden, ob das Vorhandensein von Methylgruppen am Guanidinkern, wie dies beim Asterubin verwirklicht ist, auf die Wirkungsweise einen Einfluß hat. Da es außerdem von Bedeutung sein konnte, ob der Schwefel in reduzierter oder oxydierter Form im Molekül vorliegt, wurde einerseits Taurin, Taurocyamin [Guanyltaurin]*) und Asterubin geprüft; andrerseits untersuchten wir Cystamin, Diguanylcystamin und Tetramethyldiguanylcystamin.
