Our current activities are focusing on the research and development of a data communication system for unmanned aerial vehicle applications with the features of bi-directional data flow, radio navigation and ranging. The system is in the implementation phase by using software defined radio architecture. The heart of the system is a Xilinx FPGA combined with an SDR chip of Analog Devices Inc. The result is a small form factor MIMO capable hardware with high signal processing power required by the real-time modulation, demodulation and beamforming tasks. In this paper the system description, the hardware platform and test results will be presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
