RESUMENLa respuesta inflamatoria secundaria al envejecimiento está relacionada con la resistencia a la insulina. Se sabe que las células endocrinas de los islotes del páncreas pueden ser fuente de mediadores inflamatorios en condiciones patológicas. Por ello hemos investigado el efecto del envejecimiento sobre los marcadores de inflamación en el páncreas de dos modelos de ratones: SAMP8 y SAMR1, y la influencia del Resveratrol (5mg/kg/día). El envejecimiento aumentó la expresión de citoquinas pro-inflamatorias TNF-α, IL-1β y IL-6 y del factor de transcripción NF-κB p52 en tanto que la interleuquina IL-10 anti-inflamatoria mostró una disminución. La administración de resveratrol significó una menor expresión de TNF-α y IL-1 β, así como de NF-κB p52 en los ratones viejos. No hubo diferencias significativas en la expresión de IL-1β y IL-10. Estos resultados plantean la asociación entre el envejecimiento y la expresión de células pancreáticas de mediadores inflamatorios y su mejoría tras administración de resveratrol.Palabras clave: resveratrol, páncreas, estrés oxidativo, envejecimiento
