The engine valvetrain system operating under insufficient oil lubrication conditions, caused by an incorrect installation of the gasket between the block and the head, was tested. The aim of the analysis was to determine the wear intensity and resistance to motion in camshaft bearings. A model including a camshaft, bearings, tappet-valve-spring subassemblies and a part of the lubrication system was developed. It was used to determine the bearing loads and the amount of oil supplied. The volumetric wear of the camshaft journals and bearing covers was measured. For the estimated engine run, the wear rate and resistance to motion were compared for the cases of the engine with correct and incorrect lubrication.

Abstract-The following paper describes an intelligent control problem, which depends on the balance of a metallic sphere on a beam, that oscillates in only one point, localized in the middle of the beam, using it for the balance of this fuzzy control system. Nowadays, trucks are widely used in the freight transport. Every accident involving a truck as well as any longer disruption of its traffic flow causes great losses. The considered disturbance in traffic flow occurred for a truck with dual tires on its rear axle resulted from the damage to the power transmission system from the engine to the drive wheels of the track. Investigating the cause of one such damage, in the form of rupture of the rear driveshaft, was the purpose of this article. The parameters of the analyzed truck, its wheels, its engine characteristics, the scheme of its cornering, the model of its rear-axle shaft, and the model of loading the bearing set of its rear dual wheel were included in the paper. Additionally, the probable cause of the truck rear axle shaft breakage was established.
