En la última década el enfoque agroecológico ha tomado relevancia en la agenda de los organismos públicos de generación y transferencia de tecnología agropecuaria, en respuesta a los reclamos de la sociedad sobre los efectos del modelo agroindustrial hegemónico sobre el ambiente y la salud de las personas. Sin embargo, no se conoce en qué medida este enfoque ha sido adoptado por los productores. Este trabajo busca conocer cómo la agroecología se ha difundido en los sistemas productivos cercanos a la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Se trabajó con una metodología cualitativa en base a entrevistas a informantes clave. Identificamos dos territorios, uno de carácter intensivo con predominio de la producción hortícola y otro extensivo basado en la producción ganadera. En las zonas donde predomina la producción hortícola se observó un crecimiento sostenido de la agroecología en los últimos cinco años, influenciado sobre todo por organizaciones de productores que la promueven e instituciones comprometidas con la temática. En estos casos, pese a la diferencia de visiones en las organizaciones de productores, encontramos procesos de conversión a la agroecología comunes en cuanto a motivaciones para el cambio de modelo, prácticas aplicadas, dificultades en el proceso y comercialización por canales diferenciados. Con respecto a los territorios de producción extensiva identificamos un desarrollo menor de la agroecología, circunscripto a unas pocas experiencias, con grandes diferencias entre ellas en cuanto a la pertenencia a organizaciones, objetivos y desarrollo de la propuesta agroecológica.
El acceso a la propiedad de la tierra para producir en Argentina es una problemática histórica que se abordó con diferentes perspectivas (desde la elaboración de normativas, políticas públicas y la producción bibliográfica) y que continua en la actualidad complejizando la actividad de los actores de la agricultura familiar. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer las políticas públicas de acceso a la propiedad de la tierra en el partido de Puan (Buenos Aires, Argentina) utilizadas por la agricultura familiar. La metodología propuesta se basa en el método cualitativo y utiliza principalmente la técnica de entrevistas semi-estructuradas. Además, incorpora el análisis de datos estadísticos de censos agropecuarios. Los resultados muestran la diferencia sustancial existente entre las políticas de la actualidad y las de otros períodos históricos. Como conclusiones principales se identifica que el impacto de las políticas de tierra en el efectivo acceso a la propiedad de la tierra es muy claro, como igualmente lo es la ausencia de tales políticas. Además, que es el mercado quien tiene un rol central en los procesos de acceso a la propiedad de la tierra, desplazando a otros actores y modificando los territorios.
El presente libro, tiene como uno de los principales objetivos acercarles en forma ordenada y respetando la secuencia de encuentros de la Cursada de Introducción a las Ciencias Agropecuarias y Forestales, los materiales de estudio y apoyo para comprender las diferentes temáticas abordadas. Al mismo tiempo, incluimos las diversas miradas y opiniones de los otros actores que nos ayudan en este interesante proceso de aproximación a la realidad, que pretendemos lograr una vez, finalizada la misma. Con un objetivo similar compartimos con ustedes en forma breve, como se desarrollan materias similares en otras Facultades del país y les anticipamos brevemente otros espacios, recorridos de aproximación a la realidad que disponen actualmente en nuestra querida Facultad. <i>(Párrafo extraído del texto a modo de resumen)</i>
