The computer simulation method is used to study the crashworthiness of car bumper system. Firstly, the CAD model of the car and bumper system is established in CATIA. The pre-processing for the model is finished in Hyper-Mesh and the finite element model is established. Then the process of crash simulation is calculated in Pam-Crash. The simulation results are compared with the test results to verify the accuracy of the finite element model. Finally, the low-speed crash simulation of the bumper system is conducted. The crash displacement and deformation of the bumper system are forecast through the process of simulation, which can provide a reference for the next design and improvement.
This paper discusses pseudo excitation method and constructs pseudo six-wheel pseudo excitation. For the complexity of heavy-duty truck, construction of vibration model is difficult for real structures; thirteen-degree-of-freedom full model is constructed for heavy-duty truck. Taken frequency response function as a bridge, pseudo excitation method is applied and a new method is gained for statistical characteristics of heavy-duty truck. The result shows that the method for random vibration of heavy-duty truck is feasible and convenient by constructing six-wheel road pseudo excitation and obtaining power spectral densities of vibration responses.
In order to study the performance of Hiper Strut suspension and find out the factors which affect its performance, a simulation model of Hiper Strut suspension was established based on Adams/Car and a kinematics optimization was carried out based on Adams/Insight. The result shows that both of its caster angle and kingpin inclination angle change only a little during the parallel wheel travel simulation test. After modifying the coordinate values of some hard points which were found out by using Adams/Insight, the suspension gets a better performance. The established model and optimization could be a foundation for further study of this new suspension.
The point clouds data of auto outer door panel is measured with CMM. After data processing and extracting of contour line feature, the surface is reconstructed in CATIA software. With the example, the process of reverse design how to acquire CAD model of product from actual object or sample is studied.
