Con motivo de los cien años de existencia del Boletín de la Biblioteca de Menéndez Pelayo, parece oportuno volver los ojos a las principales aportaciones de la revista. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo ofrece una revisión y puesta al día del valor de los artículos publicados en ella que tratan, directa o indirectamente, de la vida y obra de Lope de Vega. Para cumplir con nuestro propósito, resumiremos en estas páginas los aspectos más destacados de los principales estudios lopescos aparecidos en las páginas del Boletín, señalaremos su repercusión entre los posteriores investigadores del Siglo de Oro (en los casos en que esta sea claramente relevante) y trataremos de subrayar los aspectos más sugerentes de cada uno de ellos en relación con las principales líneas de investigación de la actualidad.
El impresor madrileño Andrés García de la Iglesia tiene en su producción algunos volúmenes importantes para el conocimiento del teatro del siglo XVII. Entre ellos destacan los Once entremeses, bajo cuyo título están recogidos facticiamente varios entremeses de la época, hoy conservado en la sección de raros de la Biblioteca Nacional (R/31254). Se estudian a continuación estas piececillas que, en forma de menudencias o pliegos sueltos, se dieron a la estampa en 1659, desde un doble punto de vista bibliográfico y literario para situarlos en el lugar que les corresponde y otorgarles la importancia que merecen dentro del panorama teatral del siglo XVII. De ese análisis de las peculiaridades físicas y literarias de los textos se extraen algunas conclusiones sobre la recepción impresa del teatro que los ponen en relación con la actividad de García de la Iglesia como impresor de teatro.
