Painéis cross-laminated timber (CLT) caracterizam uma tecnologia construtiva, em madeira massiva, que vem se destacando em vários países, e se apresenta com futuro promissor no Brasil, devido ao potencial florestal nacional. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar o desempenho termoenergético de painéis CLT, feitos de medula de eucalipto, para vedações verticais de diferentes tipologias habitacionais, considerando os climas de três cidades de Mato Grosso: Cuiabá, Rondonópolis e Sinop. Para tanto, aplicou-se o método de simulação do Regulamento Técnico para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Residenciais (RTQ-R). Os resultados mostraram que fechamentos verticais com o sistema construtivo inovador podem apresentar desempenho termoenergético satisfatório, sob as condições climáticas de Mato Grosso. Com painéis CLT, é possível obter edificações residenciais com níveis de eficiência energética semelhantes, e até superiores, aos obtidos com a alvenaria convencional, sendo fundamental, para tanto, que a envoltória disponha de baixa absortância solar. Nesse sentido, são necessárias revisões nas normas brasileiras que limitam o avanço de sistemas construtivos leves e inovadores, como o CLT, no país.
Há uma lacuna de trabalhos que avaliam sistemas de aquecimento solar de água (SAS) por termossifão em uso. Este estudo apresenta procedimentos para modelar e validar um SAS no software EnergyPlus sob diferentes condições de utilização. O modelo do sistema foi validado comparando-o com medições obtidas em um conjunto habitacional de interesse social. Foram considerados cinco clusters que representam a diversidade de uso do sistema. Foi adotada a Raiz do Erro Quadrático Médio (RSME) entre os valores simulados e medidos. Os RSME máximos e mínimos obtidos foram de 10,26% e 4,76%, respectivamente, o que demonstra a possibilidade de utilização do EnergyPlus para simular SAS.

Para tanto, aplicou-se o método de simulação do Regulamento Técnico para o Nível de Eficiência Energética de Edificações Residenciais (RTQR). Os resultados de 12 combinações paramétricas simplificadas indicaram que o sistema construtivo inovador apresenta grande potencial de melhoria termoenergética em edificações multifamiliares sob os climas avaliados. Dentre as composições consideradas, os painéis CLT de 5 camadas associados à baixa absortância solar na envoltória caracterizaram a melhor configuração para se alcançar nível A de eficiência. Conclui-se que a tecnologia é adequada para as situações analisadas, sendo necessárias revisões nas normas brasileiras que limitam a difusão e avanço de sistemas leves e inovadores como o CLT.
