A utilização de medicamentos cresce exponencialmente no mundo e, por vezes, devido ao seu metabolismo incompleto, essas subtâncias como a furosemida são excretadas na sua forma inalterada. As técnicas convencionais de tratamento de efluentes atualmente empregadas mostram-se ineficientes à remoção deste microcontaminante, permitindo que retorne ao consumo. Assim, a adsorção utilizando nanomateriais, como o óxido de grafeno (GO) , mostra-se uma alternativa à remoção desse poluente aquático. A incorporação de nanopartículas magnéticas na estrutura do GO possibilita eliminar etapas, como centrifugação e filtração, necessárias para adsorventes convencionais. Tendo em vista as excelentes propriedades do adsorvente mencionado, o presente trabalho visa realizar um estudo de adsorção para a remoção de furosemida, utilizando GO e GO magnético (GO•Fe3O4) com diferentes proporções de magnetita incorporada.
O óxido de grafeno reduzido (rGO) é um nanomaterial derivado do grafeno o qual possui uma elevada área superficial, estabilidade química e grande difusão de ligações π-conjugadas. O óxido de grafeno (GO) pode ser reduzido a rGO de diferentes formas, sendo que as metodologias comumente utilizadas envolvem o emprego de reagentes químicos, que podem causar malefícios ao meio ambiente.Tendo em vista às excelentes propriedades do rGO este trabalho teve como objetivo reduzir o GO por meio de métodos sustentáveis utilizando como agentes redutores cenoura, laranja e beterraba. A caracterização do GO e rGO foram realizadas por meio de espectroscopia de difração de raios-x (DRX) e espectroscopia de infravermelho por transformada de Fourier (FTIR), que mostraram a redução no espaço entre as camadas do GO indicando a formação de rGO. Em decorrência dos excelentes resultados obtidos, estudos futuros explorarão as propriedades deste nanomaterial como adsorvente de contaminantes de preocupação emergente.Palavras-chave: nanomateriais sustentáveis; redução química, método verde.
A contaminação aquática pelo grande uso de antibióticos é um potencial problema ambiental. Um dos maiores poluentes dos recursos hídricos é a amoxicilina (AMX). Este fármaco é um antibiótico de amplo espectro utilizado no tratamento de infeções bacterianas. Entretanto, após o uso terapêutico uma grande quantidade deste farmáco é excretada pelo corpo humano na forma inalterada, contribuindo, desta forma, para a contaminação dos corpos d´água além da possibilidade de dar origem á cepas de bactérias multirresistentes. A remoção desse medicamento pode ser feita através da adsorção, utilizando adsorventes magnéticos, como o oxido de grafeno (GO) com diferentes proporções de magnetita incorporada (GO•Fe3O4). Tendo em vista as excelentes propriedades do GO•Fe3O4 esse trabalho tem como proposta remover a AMX através da metodologia de adsorção em batelada. Promovendo a descontaminação áquatica proveniente do amplo uso de antibioticos e contribuindo para a prevenção do surgimento de cepas multirresistentes. Poluentes emergentes são subtâncias, químicas ou biologicas, que não são consideradas contaminantes tradicionais. Dentre eles, destacam-se principalmente fármacos e aditivos de gasolina, que são os mais encontrados no meio ambiente atualmente. A adsorção é uma técnica que demonstra-se eficiente na remoção desta classe de contaminantes. A utilização de nanomateriais magnéticos é uma excelente alternativa como adsorventes, uma vez que eles apresentam propriedades únicas que aumentam a eficiência do processo e reduzem o custo de operação. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar as isotermas de adsorção de furosemida empregando nanotubos de carbono magnéticos com diferentes proporções de magnetita incorporada. O modelo que melhor se ajustou aos dados experimentais foi o modelo de Sips. Os resultados demonstram que a medida que quantidade de ferro aumenta, maior é a capacidade de remoção dos nanomaterais magnéticos.
