Ao fim do ciclo o porta-enxerto pepino 'Caipira' proporcionou os maiores valores de produtividade Palavras-chave: Cucumis melo L., Cucurbitaceae, cultivo protegido, enxertia, hortaliças Abstract: The use of grafting may induce greater vigor in plants, increased productivity and resistance to soil pathogens. However, for the application of its benefits is necessary to establish the ideal stage for their performance and rootstock and scion combination most appropriate, and to know the relation of compatibility and incompatibility between them. Given the above the aim of this work was to study the use of different cucurbit genotypes as rootstocks for netmelon ' Fantasy' and its effects on the production of melon . To do so, we used a randomized block design with 33 treatments , consisting of the different genotypes of cucurbits used as rootstocks, autografting and untreated graft blocks and four replications for compatibility study. We applied the technique of grafting and cleft -filled plants were grown in a greenhouse , we evaluated characteristics as percentage of plant survival, stem diameter, below, the region and the region above the graft, and qualitative variables, such as, soluble solids, and mesocarp thickness and quantitative, as average fruit weight and pulp thickness. We observed in the final crop the rootstock 'Pepino Caipira' showed the greatest yields.
