Malignant intestinal obstruction is a common complication in intra-abdominal and pelvic tumors such as colon, ovary and stomach. It may be the initial presentation of localized or metastatic cancers, with the occurrence in ovarian cancer from 5.5% to 51% and in colon cancer from 10% to 28%.
Acute suppurative thyroiditis is a rare disorder, most often caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pneumoniae, in adults, the hematogenous spread from an infectious focus in the oropharynx or respiratory tract. The initial signs and symptoms of acute thyroiditis are similar to those of acute pharyngitis and subacute thyroiditis, thus delaying the diagnosis of this disease and increasing the risk of complications. In this case, a case of a 48-year-old female patient, DM2, is presented, presenting hemodynamic decompensation and an infectious thyroid finding, presenting alterations in ultrasound images and culture finding, by puncture, by a very rare agent: Streptococcus gordoni.
