El presente trabajo describe y analiza el budismoSoka en Argentina para reponer de qué modo y mediante qué mecanismos institucionales se (re)producen allí estereotipos de género. La investigación comprendió tres años de observación participante (2018-2020) en múltiples focos etnográficos en el área metropolitana de Buenos Aires, análisis hermenéutico documental y una serie de entrevistas en profundidad a miembros (n=25). El artículo contribuye a informar con datos institucionales/organizacionales los debates sobre nuevas espiritualidades y poner en primer plano los mecanismos de (re)producción material y simbólica de diferencias y desigualdades entre varones y mujeres practicantes de este budismo.
Los circuitos de producción, circulación y consumo que dinamizan el mercado de la música clásica se ubican principalmente en Europa y Norteamérica. A pesar de las desigualdades que imprime el lugar de nacimiento en la probabilidad de convertirse en un concertista internacional, América Latina ha sido, durante el siglo XX, una pródiga cantera de pianistas internacionalmente reconocidos. Las múltiples asimetrías de acceso al mercado de la música clásica no han impedido la consagración internacional de figuras tan rutilantes como Teresa Carreño, Claudio Arrau, Martha Argerich, Bruno Gelber y Daniel Barenboim. En este artículo, se propone describir las lógicas de consagración pianística internacional desde el prisma que ofrecen las trayectorias de estos artistas latinoamericanos, bajo el supuesto de que, al descentrar la mirada (que tradicionalmente contempla los grandes centros desde sí mismos), resulta posible iluminar estas lógicas de carrera y sus transformaciones durante el siglo pasado de un modo diferente y aun así productivo.
El presente trabajo explora los modos en que las/os practicantes del budismo Soka del Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires conciben y evalúan el género y la (re)producción de sus estereotipos al interior de la práctica espiritual. Entre 2018 y 2020 se realizaron múltiples entrevistas y observación participante en diversos focos etnográficos, donde encontramos que la organización y dinámicas de la Soka se critican según cómo se evalúen los efectos paradójicos de la igualdad y la diferencia (re)producidos por la institución; existe una tensión entre la afirmación de la igualdad —favorable a la autonomía de las mujeres— y las categorías tradicionales usadas para alcanzarla; se critican las diferencias que reafirman estereotipos de género, pero se valora la contención brindada en espacios exclusivamente femeninos para el abordaje de problemáticas específicas; las diferentes perspectivas que cohabitan entre practicantes sobre los debates de género constituyen otra manifestación del pluralismo dentro de la práctica.
