The well-known Sendov conjecture asserts that if all the zeros of a polynomial p lie in the closed unit disk then there must be a critical point of p within unit distance of each zero. A method is presented which proves this conjecture for polynomials of degree n F 8 or for arbitrary degree n if there are at most eight distinct zeros. ᮊ
