Hałas w kabinach karetek pogotowia ratunkowego, które uczestniczą w akcjach ratowniczych może negatywnie wpływać na jakość i precyzję czynności medycznych wykonywanych przez ratowników, jak również prowadzić do ich trwałych ubytków słuchu. Celem badań była ocena narażenia na hałas załóg karetek pogotowia ratunkowego, jadących z włączonymi sygnałami dźwiękowymi do akcji ratowniczych. Materiał i metody. Pomiary poziomów dźwięku przeprowadzono w czterech ambulansach pogotowia ratunkowego marki Volkswagen LT 35 z użyciem miernika poziomu dźwięku typu SON-50 firmy SONOPAN. W badaniach uwzględniono dwa rodzaje modulacji sygnałów dźwiękowych (nazywanych "wilk" i "pies") najczęściej używanych przez załogi karetek. Aby określić warunki akustyczne w pojazdach uprzywilejowanych -karetkach pogotowia ratunkowego, zmierzono poziom ekspozycji na hałas odniesiony do 8-godzinnego dnia pracy LE x 8 h, maksymalny poziomu dźwięku LAmax oraz szczytowy poziom dźwięku C LCPk. Poziomy ekspozycji na hałas mierzono zarówno w przedziale medycznym, jak i w kabinie kierowcy. Wyniki. Badania wstępne wykazały, że poziomy hałasu wytwarzanego przez generatory dźwięku zarówno dla modulacji "wilk", jak i "pies", w przedziale medycznym, jak i w kabinie kierowcy, były znacznie wyższe od poziomów tła. Nie stwierdzono natomiast istotnych różnic statystycznych w zmierzonych poziomach hałasu między tymi dwiema modulacjami. Szczytowe poziomy dźwięku C LCPk wynosiły 106-110 dB. Wnioski. Wysokie poziomy hałasu zarejestrowane w karetkach pogotowia ratunkowego, które uczestniczyły w akcjach ratowniczych, mogą utrudniać pracę ratowników podtrzymujących życie i zdrowie przewożonych pacjentów, a także obniżać koncentrację kierujących tymi pojazdami oraz wpływać na bezpieczeństwo przewożonych osób.

Według danych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego (GUS) w 2015 roku w Polsce największe zagrożenie spośród czynników związanych ze środowiskiem pracy stanowił hałas. Było nim zagrożonych 187,1 tys. pracowników. Dane GUS pokazują również, że liczba osób narażonych na hałas w środowisku pracy jest ponad trzykrotnie większa od liczby pracowników zagrożonych drugim pod względem częstotli-wości występowania czynnikiem szkodliwym w środowisku pracy, tj. pyłami przemysłowymi [2].
