Exames pediátricos de Seriografia do Esôfago, Estômago e Duodeno, executados através de fluoroscopia, comumente necessitam do auxílio de Indivíduos Ocupacionalmente Expostos (IOE) para posicionamento e imobilização do paciente. O objetivo do presente estudo é estimar a dose recebida por estes profissionais que permanecem na sala de exames durante a exposição à radiação. Para esta finalidade, foi utilizada uma câmara de ionização de placas paralelas marca Radcal Corporation, modelo 10X5-6 com volume sensível de 180 cm³, posicionada a 50 cm do isocentro, representando o primeiro IOE que auxilia contendo membros superiores. Dois manequins de polietileno foram preenchidos com água para representar o segundo IOE que contem membros inferiores (também posicionado a 50 cm do isocentro) e o paciente pediátrico, disposto sobre a mesa em feixe primário. Fatores técnicos como espessura de vestimenta plumbífera e distância do isocentro, também foram avaliados. Os valores de dose por procedimento são comparáveis com a dose típica do paciente em radiografia de tórax. A dose efetiva anual, 1,98 mSv, é significativamente inferior ao limite de 20 mSv/ano da Comissão Internacional de Proteção Radiológica. Porém, ela pode ultrapassar o limite no caso de centenas de procedimentos por ano.
