Este artigo revela um estudo exploratório acerca das atitudes de aceitação e rejeição dos indivíduos às ações organizacionais em prol da diversidade da força de trabalho, realizado em duas instituições bancárias que atuam no Brasil, uma nacional e outra estrangeira. O objetivo foi investigar as justificativas de indivíduos para tais atitudes com base em categorias ancoradas em três vertentes de conhecimento: a da Psicologia Social, a da Psicologia do Indivíduo de Adler e a da Teoria Neo-Institucional. A pesquisa foi realizada com sujeitos de duas instituições financeiras sediadas em São Paulo/Brasil. A coleta de dados foi realizada através de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Os dados foram analisados por meio da técnica de análise de conteúdo (BARDIN, 1977). Os resultados revelaram que grande parte das atitudes manifestas foi justificada por crenças na Justiça Social e Obtenção de Ganhos, ambas as abordagens inerentes à Psicologia Social. As justificativas baseadas na Teoria Neo-Institucional foram pouco apresentadas, bem como, as inerentes a Psicologia do Individuo. Espera-se que os resultados obtidos possam contribuir e avançar nos estudos sobre a aceitação ou rejeição às ações organizacionais em prol da diversidade da força de trabalho considerando-se diferentes perspectivas do conhecimento.
