El propósito del colectivo de estudiantes y maestros es contribuir con la formación del espíritu investigativo, mediante un problema común que proponen los profesores de tercer semestre y que los estudiantes deben estructurar a partir de las relaciones que existen entre la microeconomía, la contabilidad financiera y la epistemología para la toma de decisiones. El núcleo que articula el problema es la toma de decisiones como proceso racional, con limitaciones y también con herramientas, procesos y modelos que disminuyen la incertidumbre. Metodológicamente, los estudiantes entrevistan a un empresario o gerente sobre los motivos, principios y el proceso que sigue para tomar decisiones, y luego comparan sus hallazgos con la matriz teórica que construyen alrededor de la racionalidad y la toma de decisiones. Los profesores aportan un marco teórico, posibles preguntas de investigación y bibliografía para que los estudiantes tengan un referente investigativo.
Este artículo es producto de un estudio colectivo realizado en el primer semestre lectivo del 2016, cuyo principal propósito fue describir la forma en que la estructura de mercado bajo competencia monopolística, incide en la determinación del punto de equilibrio de la empresa Espíritu Urbano. Lo anterior se logra a partir de una investigación descriptiva y una aproximación al estudio de caso. Se concluye que los aspectos que componen la estructura de mercado en competencia monopolística influyen directamente en la determinación del punto de equilibrio de la empresa, tanto en términos económicos como contables, toda vez que intervienen directamente en la determinación de los costos, ya sea de producción o de comercialización del producto final.
En los inicios del siglo XXI a nivel mundial se han experimentado cambios en la dinámica económica y empresarial, como respuesta a la diversificación en los procesos de producción, comercialización y administración de las empresas y de los negocios en general. Entre las manifestaciones del cambio se observa el incremento en la participación de las actividades terciarias en el PIB, fenómeno que recibe el nombre de “Tercerización”, el cual hace referencia al incremento que experimenta el peso económico del sector servicios sobre la generación del PIB, es decir, que el cambio en la participación de los sectores económicos, ha llevado a que las actividades de servicios ocupen una proporción mayor de la población económicamente activa.
Este artículo evalúa el Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) entre Colombia y los Estados Unidos (EE.UU.), desde su propuesta original por el Presidente de Colombia el 30 de abril de 2003 hasta su firma definitiva, el 12 de octubre de 2011 en el Congreso de los Estados Unidos. Se enfocan los primeros pasos que se realizaron para llegar al acuerdo, clasificándolo en sus diferentes etapas. También se refieren las razones por las cuales se discutió el aplazamiento por parte del gobierno estadounidense. El artículo se concentra en el mercado agrícola, que sigue siendo considerado la parte más delicada de la negociación, según el gobierno colombiano; llegando a la conclusión que ambos países son conscientes de la necesidad de firmar dicho tratado buscando alternativas para solucionar los inconvenientes que pueden afectar sus economías y desarrollo sostenible.
El objetivo del presente trabajo es explorar las oportunidades de inserción de carne bovina colombiana en Cuba, en tanto este uno de los principales productos importados por el país centroamericano. Para analizar esta posibilidad se consideraron las preferencias arancelarias que cubren el Acuerdo entre Colombia y Cuba, en lo relacionado con la exportación de carne bovina de Colombia a Cuba, se examinaron las condiciones actuales del intercambio y luego se contrastaron. En general se halló que pese al acuerdo, las condiciones de la producción nacional y la caída de la demanda venezolana Colombia no se posiciona cómo un proveedor de carne bovina para Cuba.
