El currículo contable afronta varios retos reflejados en la educación y en el ejercicio profesional, entre ellos, la inexistencia de la perspectiva de género e interseccionalidad. En este artículo se desarrolla una reflexión sobre la importancia de incluir la variable interseccionalidad para fomentar la diversificación del currículo contable dentro de un contexto más amplio que vincula el género, la raza, la etnia, el estrato económico, las discapacidades y la migración, entre otros aspectos que fortalecen situaciones específicas en el proceso formativo contable. A manera de reflexión, este documento permite demostrar la importancia de generar fuertes avances en el currículo contable desde la perspectiva de la interseccionalidad, lo que a su vez ayudará a abordar temas esenciales y maximizar el impacto en la comunidad académica, basándose en diversas temáticas que se dejan postuladas inicialmente.

Los estudios de género en las diferentes áreas disciplinares y de desempeño profesional o laboral llegaron para quedarse, lo que es muy valioso porque permite resaltar las dinámicas persistentes de segregación, falta de representación, subordinación entre otros aspectos que se han normalizado en las sociedades del mundo, de tal forma, que no se vuelvan parte del paisaje; por tal razón esta editorial tiene la intensión de visibilizar las investigaciones que se vienen desarrollando alrededor de la temática de contabilidad y género en Colombia, las cuales se han gestado en la academia desde la investigación formal como formativa, resaltando lo señalado por Scott (2008) en torno a cómo “los estudios sobre las mujeres no sólo añadirían nuevos asuntos a tratar, sino que también forzarían un nuevo examen crítico de las premisas y los criterios existentes en los trabajos universitarios” (p. 50); lo anterior, sin perder de vista que los estudios de género abordan las distintas interacciones sociales que pueden darse entre mujeres y hombre, en particular “las relaciones simbólicas de poder” (Scott, 2008, p. 65).
