Introducción: el cuidado humanizado en la práctica de enfermería es una necesidad urgente en el ámbito paliativo debido a la elevada vulnerabilidad de este tipo de pacientes, deterioro físico y emocional, incertidumbre y desconocimiento de la enfermedad y procesos de atención asistencial. Objetivo: identificar la percepción que tienen los pacientes de cuidados paliativos y sus familiares sobre los cuidados de enfermería humanizada que recibe en la estancia hospitalaria. Metodología: se trató de un estudio descriptivo, de enfoque cuantitativo desarrollado en una población de 15 pacientes mayores de 18 años. Los datos se recolectaron a través del cuestionario “Percepción de Comportamientos de Cuidado Humanizado de Enfermería PCHE tercera edición. Resultados: los resultados de la percepción del cuidado humanizado de enfermería en pacientes paliativos fueron desfavorables; a nivel global el 93,3 % refirió que solo algunas veces esta técnica se aplica. En la dimensión cualidades del hacer de enfermería, apertura a la comunicación y aunque no en porcentajes significativos si se observó un cumplimiento en frecuencia siempre (13,3 %), sin embargo, en la dimensión disposición para la atención un porcentaje del 33,3 % refirió que no se da nunca. Conclusión: Con base en los resultados se puede decir dentro de la unidad de salud objeto de estudio el cuidado humanizado no se aplica adecuada y oportunamente al paciente paliativo porque estos fueron desfavorables tanto a nivel global como en cada una de sus tres dimensiones.
Introducción: Los cuidados paliativos son un enfoque que mejora la calidad de vida de los pacientes y sus familias que se enfrentan a los problemas asociados a las enfermedades potencialmente mortales. Objetivo: Investigar cómo el personal de enfermería, en diversos sistemas de salud, describen su papel en la prestación de cuidados paliativos a los pacientes con enfermedades potencialmente mortales. Métodos: Una revisión sistemática cualitativa de estudios. Resultados: En base al análisis, según varios autores concuerdan que el personal de enfermería cumple un papel fundamental en los cuidados paliativos. Además de hacer lo necesario para manejar una enorme amplitud de actividades, siempre en un marco holístico de comprensión. Así mismo, de estar presente de forma atenta y dedicada, como también utilizar métodos flexibles y poco tradicionales. Conclusión: Esta revisión muestra que el personal de enfermería, en todas las instituciones sanitarias, tienen una posición única en los cuidados paliativos. El papel principal de la enfermera abarca la disponibilidad y la coordinación de los servicios sanitarios.
