Este artigo apresenta um estudo acerca de como o campo científico discute a ecoformação nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental. Para tanto, tem-se como objetivo geral analisar a produção científica sobre a ecoformação nos iniciais do ensino fundamental no período de 2005 a 2021. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa do tipo Estado da Arte, na qual, inicialmente, a partir do mapeamento realizado na BTDT e na CAPES, foram localizados 63 trabalhos utilizando o descritor “ecoformação”, entretanto, após análise, apenas 6 abarcavam o tema pesquisado. Como referencial teórico, foram utilizados: Morin (2000, 2017), Moraes (2015, 2021) e Pineau (2000). Os resultados das pesquisas apontam que a prática docente, na visão da ecoformação, à luz da complexidade e transdisciplinaridade, desenvolve o protagonismo dos estudantes, o que contribui para uma mudança de postura frente às questões socioambientais, para que se possa estar atento e cuidar dos problemas ambientais do nosso planeta, defender todas as formas de vida, defender o interesse dos povos, respeitar as suas tradições e a diversidade cultural. Tendo em vista que os estudantes desta faixa etária estão no início do desenvolvimento do pensamento crítico, ressalta-se a necessidade de produções científicas sobre práticas pedagógicas que abordem a ecoformação, ou seja, as experiências de convivência social e ambiental, cultural, que sustentem a vida no planeta Terra.
