Open access journals have gathered increasing prominence as researchers understand the importance of communicating their research to the general public and not just to the scientificcommunity. Journals such as Páginas a&b: arquivos e bibliotecas(Portugal) and Perspectivas da Ciência da Informação(Brazil) are good examples of this type of publication in the area of Information Science. In this sense, this study contributes with a bibliometric and comparative analysis of suchpublications between 2016-2020, in order to trace a trend profile based on them.
