In den letzten Jahren wurden mehrfach bei verschiedenen Infektionskrankheiten des Kindesatters ohne klinische zentralnerv6se Erscheinungen, insbesondere bei Masern, EEG-Veranderungen beobachtet und deren Bedeutung diskutiert. In der vorliegenden Arbeit sell versueht werden, durch gleichzeitige Liquoruntersuchungen dig Pathogenese der EEG-Abweichungen bei unkomplizierten Masern zu klgren.Die Hirnstrombilder bei entziindlichen diffusen cerebralen Erkrankungen sind durch mehr oder weniger schwere Allgemeinveranderungen charakterisiert. Besenders bei parainfekti6sen ~eningoencephalitiden sind sie entsprechend den monomorphen Reaktionen des Gehirns mit gMchartigen neuropathologischen Bildern ziemlich einf6rmig und l~ssen keine grunds~tzliehen Untersohiede zwisehen don einzelnen Infektionskrankheiten erkennen. Eher sind sie in ihrer Ausprggung yon der Sehwere der Erkrankung und dem Alter des Patienten abhgngig. Im akuten Stadium klinisch manifester Encephalitiden werden sie mit grol~er Regelm~Bigkeit festgeste]lt; sie halten oft ]anger an als die klinischen Erscheinungen einschlieBlich der psychischen Restst6rungen.
