Fifty one genotypes of chickpea were evaluated for means and components of variability, heritability, genetic advance and interrelationships for various parameters, direct and indirect effect of various parameters for seed yield. Characters like days to maturity, followed by number of pods per plant, number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, days to 50% flowering etc.. Grain yield had high positive and significant association with days to 50% flowering, plant height, number of primary branches, number of secondary branches, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, biological yield and harvest index. Path coefficient analysis showed maximum direct contribution towards grain yield per plant with biological yield followed by harvest index.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
