Resumo O modelo brasileiro de Saúde Suplementar, baseado na Repartição Simples, reflete dificuldade de permanência do indivíduo com o avanço da idade, que traz expressivo acréscimo na contraprestação dos planos e o eventual fim da relação empregatícia. Com o objetivo de avaliar um modelo alternativo na manutenção saudável dos planos de saúde, foi estudada a viabilidade de um produto baseado na acumulação de recursos ao longo da vida. Foram realizadas simulações variando premissas impactantes no valor necessário a contribuir em relação ao salário, sendo utilizados dados da ANS. Os resultados sugerem que um modelo de plano de saúde por acumulação pode ser viável, dependendo do cenário em que o indivíduo se encontra, apresentando-se mais acessível a indivíduos do sexo masculino, residentes na região sudeste, que iniciem suas contribuições ao plano cedo, aposentem-se mais tarde e se encontrem em uma economia que apresente taxas de juros altas e taxas de reajuste baixas.
