O trato urinário de cães normalmente é considerado um ambiente estéril, com exceção da uretra distal, que é composta por microrganismos residentes, provenientes da vagina ou prepúcio. Aproximadamente 14% dos cães podem desenvolver infecção do trato urinário (ITU) durante a vida, sendo mais comuns em fêmeas e idosos. O uso indiscriminado de antimicrobianos no tratamento e prevenção de doenças do trato urinário pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento de resistência bacteriana. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar a microbiota envolvida em transtornos do trato urinário de cães do município de Formiga, Minas Gerais e estabelecer o perfil de susceptibilidade desses agentes frente a antimicrobianos comumente utilizados na rotina clínica veterinária. As amostras utilizadas foram concedidas por um laboratório de análises clínicas veterinárias do município de Formiga, Minas Gerais, sendo disponibilizadas 13 amostras biológicas que foram submetidas à cultura e antibiograma. Em oito (61,5%), das 13 amostras, foi possível perceber a presença de Staphylococcus spp., seguido por E. coli (15,4%), Enterococcus sp. (7,7%), Streptococcus sp. (7,7%) e Proteus sp. (7,7%). Em relação ao perfil de susceptibilidade a antimicrobianos, foi possível concluir que para a base amoxicilina + ácido clavulânico, em aproximadamente 61,5% das amostras, foi o antimicrobiano com melhor eficiência.
In vitro evaluation of probiotic and technological properties of lactic acid bacteria isolated from artisanal cheese produced in the Serra Geral -Minas Gerais -Brazil[Avaliação in vitro de propriedades probióticas e tecnológicas de bactérias ácido-láticas isoladas de queijo artesanal da Serra Geral (MG)]
Conhecida popularmente como “doença do carrapato”, a eliquiose canina é uma doença infecciosa e endêmica em diversas regiões do Brasil, inclusive o Centro-Oeste de Minas Gerais. Atualmente, a enfermidade apresenta alta prevalência onde o clima é propício para o crescimento do seu agente transmissor, o carrapato Rhipicephalus sanguineus, que durante o repasto sanguíneo inocula com a saliva as formas infectantes de micro-organismo do gênero Ehrlichia, transmitindo assim, a doença. Uma cadela da raça maltês, de aproximadamente seis anos de idade, não apresentava carrapatos e sua sintomatologia era indicativa de uma hemoparasiotse. Em um primeiro momento, erliquiose foi descartada pela ausência de ectoparasitas, mas os exames clínicos e anamnese não permitiam o seu descarte como diagnóstico diferencial. Os resultados de hemograma confirmaram se tratar de uma hemoparasitose e o perfil hepático mostrou um fígado fortemente impactado. O diagnóstico sorológico confirmou a positividade para erliquiose. O tratamento foi feito, seguindo a terapêutica recomendada e o animal respondeu bem ao tratamento.
O leite, um alimento nobre e de grande importância para a pecuária pode sofrer impactos negativos, em especial com a ocorrência de doenças, como a mastite, que provoca alterações no pH, o que o deixa mais alcalino. A mastite causada por Streptococcus uberis (S. uberis), um agente etiológico ambiental, tem como alvo tratamentos à base de ß-lactâmicos, usualmente prolongado pela dificuldade no tratamento destas. Nesse sentido, sabe-se que o pH alcalino hidrolisa os ß-lactâmicos em meios líquidos, assim, o objetivo do trabalho foi observar se o pH alcalino do leite de vaca com mastite ambiental provoca inativação ou redução da ação dos antimicrobianos. Para tal, leite saudável e de animais com mastite foram cedidos de uma propriedade rural em Córrego Fundo-MG onde nestes foram mensurados o pH e realizado esterilização para inoculação de cepas de S. uberis (previamente isolado) juntamente com uma base antimicrobiana comercial de amoxicilina e clavulanato. Ao final, foi verificado o crescimento bacteriano nas diferentes amostras. Foi realizado um antibiograma com a amostra isolada de S. uberis para verificar a ausência de resistência ao antimicrobiano utilizado, onde tal amostra não apresentava resistência. Dentro das condições experimentais, o micro-organismo apresentou um comportamento de crescimento diferente diante dos diferentes pH das amostras, crescendo mais (p<0,01) no leite de mastite com pH 7,6, mesmo na presença de antimicrobiano. Com isso, enfatiza-se a necessidade da realização de mais estudos farmacológicos sobre os antimicrobianos utilizados na mastite.
A utilização de exames laboratoriais na clínica veterinária é um importante auxílio no diagnóstico de enfermidades que acometem os animais, principalmente aqueles de companhia. O hemograma é o exame mais solicitado na rotina laboratorial, visto que esse recurso, conciliado com uma boa anamnese e um bom diagnóstico clínico pode solucionar causas e complicações causadas pelas mais diversas enfermidades, ajudando o médico veterinário a encontrar a melhor forma de tratamento e o melhor protocolo terapêutico. Nele é possível a avaliação da situação do eritograma, plaquetograma e leucograma. Com base no exposto buscou-se realizar um estudo transversal e retrospectivo analisando a frequência e percentual dos parâmetros contidos em hemogramas que foram coletados em um laboratório veterinário de análises clínicas da cidade de Formiga-MG. Na série vermelha (eritograma), as anemias regenerativas se mostraram mais presentes. Na série branca (leucograma), as leucocitoses foram mais comuns, representadas majoritariamente por neutrofilias. Leucogramas de estresse tiveram uma representação significativa, indicando artefatos associados com coleta do sangue. As trombocitopenias, por sua vez, têm relação provável com hemoparasitoses, que são endêmicas no estado de Minas Gerais. As pancitopenias foram observadas em menor frequência. De uma forma geral, os resultados encontrados nesse trabalho se diferenciaram de outros estudos, principalmente no eritrograma.
